Words of Impact: The Quotes That Drive Me Forward

Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Do you have a quote that you live by or that often pops into your mind when you need guidance? I do, and over the years, I’ve found a few that I come back to time and again. Here are three of my favorites, along with why they resonate with me and how they’ve shaped my life.

1. “If I’m early, I’m on time; if I’m on time, I’m late; and if I’m late, that’s just unacceptable.”This quote has been with me for as long as I can remember, guiding my approach to punctuality and responsibility. It’s often attributed to the author Eric Jerome Dickey from his 2007 book “Sleeping With Strangers,” though some claim it originated in the military or even in factories in the 1800s. Regardless of its true origin, the phrase emphasizes the value of respecting other people’s time. I take it to heart when attending meetings, meeting deadlines, or even just catching up with friends. For example, when I have an important appointment, I always plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early. This buffer not only reduces stress but also shows that I value the other person’s time.

I first encountered this quote in David Robinson’s book, “Be the One to Execute Your Trust.” The book explores some complex topics, including the concept of the USA as a corporation, how it affects our legal identities, and the idea of a “strawman.” In this context, the “strawman” is the name used by legal and financial institutions, often appearing in all capital letters—distinct from our birth name or family name. Robinson’s book sheds light on these nuances and suggests ways to understand and navigate them.

Robinson has written other books exploring similar themes, such as “Understanding How We the People Were Deceived,” and “UCC Connection: How to Free Yourself from Legal Tyranny.” This quote, “Know more, no more” resonated with me because it implies that knowledge is empowering. The more you understand about systems, laws, and structures that impact your life, the better equipped you are to make informed decisions and challenge the status quo. This quote reminds me to always question, research, and expand my understanding of the world, knowing that greater knowledge often leads to greater freedom. It reminds me that learning more about the systems and structures that govern our lives can lead to greater autonomy and freedom. It’s a call to always be curious and seek the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

3. “With the remnants of all past failures, you now have all the keys to perfection.”This is a quote I coined myself during a challenging time in my artistic journey. As an artist, I often felt frustrated by my mistakes and failures. This phrase was a turning point for me, helping me realize that each failure carries valuable lessons. It taught me to embrace setbacks as part of the creative process, knowing that every misstep brings me closer to mastering my craft. When I find myself struggling, I remind myself that failure is not the end—it’s just another step on the path to success. This mindset has made me more resilient and open to growth in every aspect of my life.

Living by these quotes has helped shape my outlook on life, providing guidance, inspiration, and motivation when I needed it most. Whether it’s being on time, seeking knowledge, or learning from failures, each of these phrases holds a special place in my heart. They remind me of the values I hold dear and the kind of person I want to be. I hope they resonate with you , too, and encourage you to reflect on your own guiding principles. If you have quotes that inspire you, I’d love to hear them. Until we meet again, keep these words close to your heart and continue your journey with purpose and passion.
